Maybe It’s Your Medications ? Polypharmacy and Falls Prevention Workshop

Join us for an intimate, invite-only session designed to help reduce fall risks and navigate the challenges of polypharmacy with confidence.

This one hour workshop will provide a supportive space for attendees to bring their full medication lists, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and supplements, for a guided group-style “Ask a Pharmacist” discussion. Together, we’ll explore how multiple medications (polypharmacy) can increase the risk of falls, dizziness, and other preventable harms, and what can be done to create safer, more effective treatment plans.

Led by Dr. DeLon Canterbury, a board-certified geriatric pharmacist, this workshop will cover:

✔️ How multiple medications can contribute to falls and hospitalization risks
✔️ Identifying drug interactions and side effects that affect balance, strength, and cognition
✔️ Recognizing when medications may be doing more harm than good
✔️ Asking the right questions to providers to protect loved ones from unnecessary harm
✔️ Understanding the deprescribing process and how it improves safety and quality of life

When: Wednesday, September 24th, from 2 PM – 3PM

Where: Carolina Meadows, North Carolina

This is a practical and empowering session designed to give caregivers and patients the tools to reduce medication-related risks and prevent avoidable falls.

It costs nothing to attend, but you have everything to gain.
